Barbara Cole's Painted Ladies series blurs the line between paintings and photographs. Influenced by a painting by Lucien Freud, she began experimenting with an SX-70 Polaroid camera to perfect her technique. She created these photos by playing with studio lighting and manipulating the surface image to add dimension and the painterly quality.
These night photography shots by Justin Carrasquillo are absolutely amazing. Each one captures the wonder and beauty of nature. I especially love the colors in the sky and the abundance of stars illuminating the night.
Remi Rebillard mixes sexuality and the sea with this provocative series. Each shot incorporates a shot of the sea blended with a provocative, often mysterious, shot of a woman. I can't help but feel there's a deeper meaning behind these shots.
This series by Daryl Banks is beautiful in both its style and simplicity. Each photo is simply a shot of a woman wearing a crinoline dress made to look like a flower in bloom. The photos are both sharp in contrast and detail and have great lighting. The black background helps to keep your focus on the subject. Each shot a truly a thing of beauty.
Zorik Istomin has such incredibly stylized photos, you would think they were illustrations. Once you learn that these are photos, you are almost forced to stare at each one, trying to figure out how he creates such unique stylized photos. His unique style, interesting compositions, and great use of colors make for some awesome photos.
Tom Lacoste is a juggler. You heard that right, not a professional photographer, a juggler. He is self-taught photographer attending the Bordeaux Circus School with no aspirations to become a professional photographer. That's a true shame, because his photos are awe inspiring.
Wow. That is the word that comes to mind when I see Mikko Lagerstedt's photos. Mikko is an incredibly talented, self taught, photographer who only started taking photos in December of 2008. I wish I could share every photo he has taken because they are all that good. Each one is well composed, has an amazing atmosphere, and incredible lighting. You could get lost for hours browsing his photostream.
